Deep South

Back to sections

The Deep South Range is 400 members strong.

As one of the newest sections of the AAC, we kicked off with a speaker event and are looking forward to having cocktail hours and slide presentations in the near future. Deep South climbers are a very active group of members who take numerous weekend trips during the year. What this group of states lack in quantity, they make up for in climbing quality: Boat Rock and Mt. Yonah in Georgia and Sandrock in Alabama are only a few. The Deep South Section is also home to the Southeastern Climbers Coalition (SCC), a very active group of climbing activists.

Interested in becoming an AAC Ambassador for this section? Community Ambassadors are climbers who live and are active in their local climbing communities. Like Section Chairs, they promote the AAC in their area. Local communities consist of climbing locales, population centers with significant numbers of climbers, and special interest groups like ice climbers, women or boulderers. Communities are best served by multiple ambassadors, those with time and energy to coordinate with Section Chairs and rally climbers in the area. Interested?
