WALTER THOMAS HASWELL III, 1945-2007

Tom Haswell, a life member of the AAC, died February 13 at age 61. A brilliant electrical engineer, Haswell received his Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon at 22 and enjoyed a long career with Hewlett-Packard in Colorado and Oregon. He retired in Corvallis, Oregon, where he enjoyed long walks in the woods. Before his death, he wrote, “I am ending a wonderful and full life. Blessed by wonderful daughters, Sabrina and Erin, great times on rock and snow above timberline, in wilderness and old-growth forests.”
