In an effort to provide affordable places to stay near major climbing areas, the AAC's Huts Committee has signed agreements with other existing lodging facilities that give a 25 percent discount to AAC members and members of foreign climbing clubs. Proof of membership (i.e. your membership card) must be provided to obtain your discounted rates.

The newest addition to the AAC Hut Program is the North Cascades Basecamp.

This facility is located in Mazama, WA where the Methow Valley meets the North Cascades. The lodge has 6 rooms, and a satellite cabin that sleeps 7. There are single and multi-pitch rock and ice climbing across the street, out the door trail running, mt. biking, hiking and skiing on 200 KM of trails. Only a 20 minute drive from world class alpine climbing and spring touring at Washington Pass – including the famous Liberty Bell Crack, one of the 50 classic climbs in North America. Rates for summer bed and breakfast are $88 a night for two adults; AAC members receive a 20% discount with a current membership card. The Snowbird Hut provides access to a wide variety of skiing terrain. All skill levels can be accommodated and the Snowbird Glacier provided miles of opportunities. For those of you wishing to have a high quality backcountry experience, this is the place for you! The hut is a 16 foot diameter metal dome, located at 4,820 ft. in the southern Talkeetna Mountains, north of the town of Palmer. It is insulated and heated, and one only needs to bring their own personal equipment to be able to fully enjoy their experience.
Location: Talkeetna Mountains - on a lateral moraine, high on the Snowbird Glacier.

Reservations are not needed and the hut is "first come, first served."

Appalachian Mountain Club Facilities. AAC members will receive the same rates as AMC members (just show your AAC membership card or proof of membership letter) in all AMC huts and lodges, including the 8 High Mountain Huts in the Presidential Range.
