The North Central Section of the American Alpine Club covers North Dakota, South Dakota, and Nebraska. While the focus of the Section’s events and its membership’s climbing priorities are oriented on Black Hills crags, our 50 or so members from the Section frequently travel to alpine environments all over the country.

North Central Section Chair
Mark Jobman is originally from Hill City, South Dakota. He grew up climbing the granite of the Hills and running trips to nearby Devils Tower and the Tetons. For Mark, adventure is not just about the buzz, the summits, the tick lists. Adventure can be addictive, by adding education and culture to everything that you are doing in the outdoors. Mark believes building stronger relationships, and understanding of landscapes and people, are just as important as the adventure itself. Mark looks forward to growing AAC membership and supporting community in the North Central Section.
