The Samuel F. Pryor III Shawangunk Gateway Campground is, at long last, approaching its building phase.
After much good work by our partner Jim Hall, Executive Director of the Palisades Interstate Park Commission, his team is poised to obtain permits and begin seeking bids for the work. The request for bids should go out sometime in late October. If all goes well, we will begin the actual work when the weather improves in the Spring.
Once open, the campground will be operated in a partnership between the American Alpine Club and the Mohonk Preserve.

This year the Climbers’ Ranch is again participating in the matching grants program of the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole. Funds raised through Old Bill’s Fun Run to the account of the Climbers’ Ranch benefit from a Foundation match of approximately 50%.
