Gunks Campground Update · September 26, 2012

UPDATE — September 26, 2012

The Samuel F. Pryor III Shawangunk Gateway Campground is, at long last, approaching its building phase.

After much good work by our partner Jim Hall, Executive Director of the Palisades Interstate Park Commission, his team is poised to obtain permits and begin seeking bids for the work. The request for bids should go out sometime in late October. If all goes well, we will begin the actual work when the weather improves in the Spring.

Once open, the campground will be operated in a partnership between the American Alpine Club and the Mohonk Preserve.

Go to our Gunks Lodging Page for more info and updates.

Help the Climbers’ Ranch · September 5, 2012

This year the Climbers’ Ranch is again participating in the matching grants program of the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole. Funds raised through Old Bill’s Fun Run to the account of the Climbers’ Ranch benefit from a Foundation match of approximately 50%. So your $100 donation turns into $150 with the support of the Jackson Hole Community Foundation. The deadline for donations this year is September 14, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. Mountain Time. Donations can be made on-line by following the simple instructions on the Old Bill’s Fun Run page of the website of the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole: http://www.cfjacksonhole.org/old-bills-fun-run/donate-through-old-bills/ Simply select “Grand Teton Climbers’ Ranch” from the drop-down box.
