The AAJ is now online! Click here to visit.
To mark the 80th anniversary of the American Alpine Journal, we’ve launched a website to deliver reports and articles on a much more timely basis. We’re calling the AAJ Online a beta site because we’ve only begun to upload content. What you’ll find now is the site’s structure, reflecting the AAJ’s standard table of contents, as well as the first reports from 2009. We’ve also uploaded some reports and articles from recent AAJs in order to put a little meat on our virtual bones while we’re waiting for 2010 reports.
Besides more timely reporting, the website also allows additional features, including maps, topos, occasional longer articles, and other extras.
To keep track of what’s being uploaded, please subscribe to our RSS feed by clicking on the RSS button on the right side of the website’s banner photo.
The American Alpine Journal
Published since 1929, The American Alpine Journal is the premiere annual record of significant mountaineering and long rock climbing ascents worldwide. American Alpine Club members receive the 500-page American Alpine Journal (retail $35) free with membership.
On this page you will find downloads of various AAJ articles, guidelines for submitting new climb reports to the AAJ, and indexes to the complete AAJ collection. Corrections to past editions are listed at the bottom of this page.
AAC members also have online access to the 2009 edition, completed stories from the 2008 edition, and a collection of unpublished topos and route photos at AAJ Topos. Log on at the Members Only page to access these benefits.
